History of Quiksilver
The origin and essence of Quiksilver is surfing. In 1973, Alan Green and John Law started the company so they could live and surf in Torquay, Victoria. Quiksilver's first product was the 'boardshort'. Alan and John's personal dedication to surfing ensured that they made the best boardshorts available. The reputation of Quiksilver boardshorts grew quickly, as did demand. Soon Quiksilver was available throughout Australia. All the top surfers of the 1970s wore Quiksilver boardshorts. Quiksilver launched ROXY in America in 1991. In 1992, the swim line was followed by the introduction of sportswear, denim and snowwear. In 1993, the ROXY logo was born, two Quiksilver logos mirrored in a heart shape, along with the signature ROXY boardshort for girls. Today, Quiksilver is one of the most successful companies in the industry, publicly traded and has acquired several brands, including DCShoes.
