Atomic winter sports equipment and accessories
Atomic is perhaps the best known ski brand in the world. And that is not so strange. They are market leader in many regions. But they do not only make skis. They are also big in the world of ski boots, poles, helmets and bags. Since 2014 Atomic also makes functional winter sportswear. Well thought out, made with care from high quality materials. Atomic stands for quality. And that is what we find most important.
History of Atomic
Atomic was founded in 1955 in Austria. In the first years, founder Alois Rohrmoser and his four staff members made about 40 pairs of skis. But over time they managed to automate and mechanise the production of skis considerably.
In 1971, the second factory was opened in Altenmarkt im Pognau, where the head office is also located. In 1981, when a factory was opened in what was then still communist Bulgaria, production really took off. In 1991, no fewer than 831,000 pairs of skis were produced. That record has not been broken to this day.
You can say that Atomic is a big player in the field of ski equipment. Not only in production numbers but also in development and technique. Who does not know the iconic Atomic Beta Carve skis from almost 20 years ago? And of the more common models: who does not know the Doubledeck construction on the race skis? By now we are in the third generation of that technology, which gives the skis more stability, rebound and punch. And they will continue to develop top-end skis for some time to come. With winners like Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher as star athletes, Atomic will continue to lead the ski world for some time to come.
